Many have been wondering what’s next for Conor McGregor since the athlete’s defeat to Flyod Mayweather.
Conor McGregor could take a shot at wrestling next year. According to Adam Higgins of The Sun, McGregor is in talks with the WWE to make a one-off special appearance. He could make his in-ring debut at Wrestlemania next April.
“Conor is a huge wrestling fan. His entire persona on stage he has developed from watching performers like Ric Flair and The Rock,” The Sun reports from an unnamed source. “These are the top dogs at self-promotion and trash talk. He watched these guys when he was younger. This is something he’s always wanted to do. The WWE guys have asked him to do shows before with them but the timing was never really right. But this time it looks like a deal is going to be locked into place.”
When does Conner McGregor make his debut?
McGregor is no stranger to big PPV stardom, being arguably the biggest draw in UFC history as well as the co-star of a recent boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather that reportedly nabbed in the neighborhood of five million buys. He’s also no stranger to WWE; though he’s never actually been in WWE, he has often talked about pro-graps and a few superstars in particular.
I didn’t mean no disrespect to the @wwe fans. What I meant to say was that I’d slap the head off your entire roster. And twice on Sunday’s.

Clearly he’s not scared. He’s adaptable and you can trust that he will put on an amazing show.
It’s very unlikely that McGregor would return to the octagon this year; his last MMA fight was back in November of 2016. A quick payday in a WWE ring, would make a lot of money.
