Former UFC Heavyweight Champion and current WWE superstar, Brock Lesnar, will make his return to the octagon at UFC 200. Brock’s return was announced at UFC 199.

On Monday afternoon, it was announced that Lesnar will be fighting Mark Hunt, who is currently the 8th ranked Heavyweight contender in the UFC.

Brock Lesnar last competed in the UFC in 2011 and left as a result of diverticulitis. He arrived on the scene in 2008 and won the UFC Heavyweight Title in his third career fight against Randy Couture. He returned to WWE in 2012 and has been an unstoppable force inside the ring.

Besides breaking the Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak, he was a dominating WWE Champion and continues to destroy anything in his path. Though, many would argue his crowning achievement was his performance as a headliner at UFC 100 in July 2009. That was the night he avenged his first lost to Frank Mir and told the world he was going home to make his wife tap out.

Best of Both Worlds

Brock Lesnar Making UFC ComebackWhile technically not considered one, this is a huge cross-promotional deal for both companies. Vince McMahon and Dana White are geniuses. The buzz Lesnar brings anywhere he goes will give the UFC and WWE some extra momentum in the summer. It will definitely be fun to watch.

Imagine if Paul Heyman can accompany him to the event. Instant buy rates! Brock Lesnar was UFC ‘s biggest draw. Before Conor McGregor and Jon Jones, folks flocked to see Brock fight.

WWE has confirmed they are OK with Brock Lesnar doing a one off at UFC 200. They expect him to return to the squared circle at SummerSlam on August 21st. Brock Lesnar is a part timer over in the WWE.

In America, if you have a part time job, most of the time you have more than one part time gig. Brock misses UFC and UFC misses Brock Lesnar. Working both  companies is a win-win for both brands.

UFC 200 is going to be a stacked event. Cormier vs Jones 2, Aldo vs Edgar 2 and Tate vs Nunes are all must see fights. Add Lesnar vs Hunt and now you have the premiere must see event of the summer.
