The Washington Capitals and post season success are two things that never seem to go together. Most years result in a crushing game 7 loss in either the first or second round. Right now they find themselves in a 2-1 hole to Columbus, losing the first two games at home in overtime. In both home contests they led 2-0 early, but the Blue Jackets stormed back to win each game. Fortunately they pulled out the win in the third game. winning 3-2 in double overtime. Capitals Coach Barry Trotz decided to gamble on a young goaltender named Philip Grubauer. Grubauer rightfully earned the role with his amazing play. However, it is often said that the backups look great until you make them the starter. That is exactly what has happened so far. While the Capitals find themselves down 2-1 there is still hope. Holtby will be starting their next game in Columbus, and his record against the Blue Jackets is amazing. For Capitals fans it seems like the same old team, which to be honest it is, but that doesn’t mean the Capitals won’t battle back.

Supreme Court may Rule in Favor of Sports Betting

As far as betting on the showdown goes I would take the Capitals money line all day at +120. The Capitals are a desperate team right now. With more than 45 minutes of extra minutes over three games, fatigue is sure to play a factor.

The over at 5.5 is also a very good bet. The teams have beat the over in the first two games, and that should be expected to continue. A bet you all should take is overtime. Out of the Caps last 22 playoff games 12 of them have needed extra time, and the previous 3 games have also ended in overtime. If you can find a bet for this series to go at least 6 games I would take that in a heartbeat. The Caps are known for having lengthy series, and even though they are down 2-1 and on the road they will give their fan base hope every time they step out on to the ice.
