Rams Sign Former Patriots DT Dominique Easley to a One-Year Deal
Head Coach Jeff Fisher is back at it again as the Rams sign former Patriots DT Dominique Easley. The team is giving a second chance to a player that has accomplished 25 tackles, 3 sacks and 2 season ending injuries with his former team. After a workout with Domonique Easley, the Los Angeles Rams have inked him to a one year deal.
A 2014 first round draft pick, Easley was once projected to be the Patriots’ top interior sub rusher. However, Easley ended both of his seasons on injury reserve. Last season he injured his knee, which was already weak from a tear sustained during his time at University of Florida.
There is speculation that his drama off the field was a factor in the Patriots taking a financially penalizing move. Easley is in the middle of a few lawsuits, including one filed by a former friend for an alleged dog attack. He has also been described as “rude and disrespectful” by former teammates, even being referred to as locker room cancer.
The Rams have a full season ahead of them. They will open the regular season against the San Francisco 49ers and will defend their territory against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1.
Their third place divisional finish last season won them a slot to host the New York Giants in the first NFL International Series game held at the Twickenham Stadium in London, England.
