2018 starts with a tale of haves and have-nots in Conference Championship Weekend. The NFL season has narrowed it down to just four teams: New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings.

Let the games begin in this Conference Championship Weekend!3 out of 4 of these teams are seeking their first Super Bowl win while New England chases their 6th.

Patriots

The Patriots are on a tear after smashing the Tenneessee Titans. The Titans came into this game hopeful, but woefully under-powered. Many predicted the Titans winning their division. There is some worrying news for New England as Tom Terrific injured his hand during practice on Wednesday. It’s plausible enough to ruffle sports media folks but upon examination, it’s just smoke in the wind. Hopefully they aren’t causing that wind with another Deflategate.

Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars a.k.a. “Sacksonville”, defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers with their #1 defense. Ben Rothlesberger came up with some beautiful passes into the hands of Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell.  Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey greeted fans in Jacksonville predicting a win against the Pats this Sunday and a Lombardi Trophy.

Eagles

It is a true Cinderella story in Philly, if the princess had twisted her ankle en route to the ball and one of her stepsisters landed the prince. Nick Foles returns to a Swiss army knife of a offensive, and there is a chance that this team might pull it off. He faces a suffocating defense in Minnesota.

Vikings

In true Hail Mary fashion, the Vikings journey into the post season is one for the record books.  They went down in meme-story that day.  “Aints” secondary couldn’t contain the Vikings pass game led by Case Keenum. Hopefully the Vikings can pull out the win this weekend with a little less drama and a lot more conviction.

Vegas has the Patriots and the Eagles has the sure thing, but you never know what will happen with the Vikings and Jaguars stepping up. It’ll be interesting to see how Conference Championship Weekend plays out.
