Detroit Lions Draft Preview; 2016 Schedule Released

With the NFL Draft set to begin on April 28th, let’s take a look at this year’s Detroit Lions Draft Preview and schedule.

Detroit Lions Draft Preview

The Detroit Lions have a clear objective in a few weeks: Protect Matthew Stafford. The Lions are severely deficient at the Left Tackle position.

Detroit Lions Draft PreviewThey may not be able to find that proverbial franchise LT at the #16 spot in the draft, but rest assured, if Laremy Tunsil, Ronnie Stanley, or Jack Conklin were to mysteriously fall that low, the Lions would pounce on one of them like an injured caribou.

New GM Bob Quinn has stated he is going to be mixing their draft picks between needs and the best on the board.  While the Lions still have needs at defensive tackle, linebacker, cornerback, safety and wide receiver, they will probably look to solidify that O-line first.

That being said, should a Laquon Treadwell slip down to them at 16 as well, given the recent departure of Megatron at WR, that too could be a very attractive option.

Lions’ Top Prospects

OT –  Laremy Tunsil (Ole Miss), Ronnie Stanley (Notre Dame), Jack Conklin (Michigan St.)

CB –  Vernon Hargreaves (Florida), Jalen Ramsey (Florida St.)
