March Madness is just around the corner, but before things really heat up there are going to be some very competitive play in games. The matchup to watch is Syracuse vs Arizona State, the true Cinderella story. The Orange and Sun Devils could both arguably not be in the dance, but whoever wins will have a chance to prove people wrong in a match up against TCU.

ASU

Arizona State opened the season on fire led by an incredible offense, but has since stuttered. While offense is the clear bright spot for the Sun Devils, it isn’t for the Orange. Arizona State is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to defense; they allow opponents to shoot over 50 percent from the field. Players to watch on this team include senior guards Shannon Evans, Tra Holder and Kodi Justice. These men have been beasts on the court. Let’s hope they have enough to make the Orange Fear the Fork.

Syracuse

Syracuse is shooting an abysmally low field goal percentage that ranks 321st in the nation. They posses a scoring average of just 67.5 points per game. Despite their terrible offense, their defense has been solid. The key to their success on the defensive side of the ball has come from the height of incredible players like Paschal Chukwu with 88 blocks, which makes them harder to drive and score down low on.

Prediction for this Cinderella story?

For those betting on this match up you should take Syracuse.  The line opened at Syracuse -1, but is now Syracuse +1.5.  Syracuse to cover the +1.5 is a great bet especially in March with Jim Boeheim leading the squad.

As far as betting on the O/U take the over at 143.5. The match up is bound to be a buzzer beater. You can trust that the Orange will bring up the score with late fouls.

Both teams struggled this year, but the Cinderella story may still play out.
