Carmelo Anthony took some time to clear the air on his summer ’17 situations, not even a full week after getting traded to the Thunder.

Carmelo Anthony was recently on a guest on Sirius XM NBA show. He was very forward about potential trades to the Houston Rockets and the Cleveland Cavaliers, which seemed to fell apart at the very last minute, leaving some fans to wonder.

Carmelo Anthony didn’t make fans wait too long.

“A deal was done with Houston early, then, for some reason, whatever happened behind the scenes, it didn’t go through, it fell through then we had to really start paying attention and thinking about other options,” Anthony told Sirius XM NBA Radio.

Anthony said he was willing to open up his trade list to Oklahoma City because he had no desire to go into training camp with the Knicks and deal with all of the questions he would inevitably get about whether he wanted to play in New York or not.

Carmelo Anthony agreed to waive his no-trade clause to join the Thunder. He also agreed to forgo a trade kicker worth $8.1 million to help the deal go through.

Carmelo also mentioned  how he almost got traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers during the NBA draft.

“Actually, it was funny because me and PG was supposed to be in Cleveland on draft night,” Anthony said. “We were communicating about that. The deal was actually done, and it got called off on draft night, so me and PG stayed connected throughout the course of the [offseason]. We never even talked about OKC, though.”

With the summer behind him, expect a rejuvenated, Carmelo Anthony willing to give it his all for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Expect Carmelo to prove to the haters that he isn’t the 64th best player in the NBA. He definitely isn’t resting on his laurels, or letting fans forget about him.
