Chicago Bears Draft Preview; 2016 Schedule Released
With the NFL Draft set to begin on April 28th, let’s take a look at this year’s Chicago Bears Draft Preview.
Chicago Bears Draft Preview
The Chicago Bears have made some off-season moves to free up some cap space. They have moved Matt Forte to the New York Jets and have acquired defensive personnel to fulfill some gaps they have up front.
With free agent signings of Danny Trevathan (LB), Jerrell Freeman (LB) and Akiem Hicks (DE), they could still use a solid pass rusher, which they will most likely look to secure first in a few weeks with the #11 pick.
The Chicago Bears’ GM, Ryan Pace, has said publicly that he needs more “playmakers” on defense. With the aforementioned signings and hopeful additions at pass rusher, they will be in a good spot moving forward.
The Bears front seven failed to have anyone put up double-digit sacks last year, with the highest total of 7 coming from Lamarr Houston. They look to hopefully continue developing a defensive unit that will be able to apply better pressure to opposing quarterbacks.
Bears’ Top Prospects
LB – Joey Bosa (Ohio State), DeForest Buckner (Oregon), A’Shawn Robinson (Alabama)
